Are you due an electrical rewire? There are a couple of signs to look out for... How old is your property? Was your property built before the mid 1980's? If so, most older properties made no use of earth cables and used aluminium in the electrical wiring instead of copper. An earth wire is used to stop electric shocks if there is an overload of power going into your electrical system; without an earth wire it can be particularly dangerous in the event of a power cut. Not to forget, aluminium wiring is significantly more susceptible to fire than copper. Look at your consumer unit Look at your fuse box/consumer unit. There should be a date that will show when your electrics were installed. If the date is before the mid 1980's, it would be within your best interest to give us a call to check your properties electrics. However, bare in mind, the date will only show the date of installation and not whether an electrical rewire has been carried out, but it is always best to be extra safe. Rewiring survey This is perhaps the most efficient way of determining whether your property needs an electrical rewire. We can survey all domestic and commercial properties and if we come to the conclusion that the property needs one completed, we can complete the work within five working days, on average. If you go through with an electrical rewire, we can make some changes to the amount of plug sockets/lights and the location of these sockets/lights, perhaps a worthwhile benefit to consider.
